Where to Get Help

Bank Assistance Programs
US Today has a list of banks, credit card companies, and other lenders that are providing assistance to federal employees. Check directly with your bank to find out if they have special programs for federal employees.

PayPal Cash Advances
PayPal is offering interest-free cash advances up to $500 ($250 minimum) to new or existing customers who are federal employees.

Unemployment Benefits
Federal employees may be eligible for unemployment benefits. These are paid through your state unemployment office, and, in most locations, you can open a claim and file online.

Utility and Cell Phone Companies
Many utility companies and cell phone carriers are offering assistance to federal employee customers, check with your provider to find out what help may be available.
